Brody let Heather go and took a step back.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
“I was going through your shit and you didn’t care.”
“I have nothing to hide. I’m used to it.”
“Fuck,” Brody growled. “Not with me, sweetheart. I don’t want that. But I have to have it that way right now.”
“Brody…”
“There was a bust in town yesterday. Got the club in some hot water.”
“Why?”
“Whatever you know of us as bikers in leather with mean faces, throw that out the fucking window. We keep this town running. We keep things even. Quiet. We make sure people feel safe, but they know we’re watching. It’s a balancing act most of the time. And one thing we don’t stand for is drugs in this town. Anyone who deals… thinks about it… they meet a quick and early grave.”
Brody hated muttering those words because he feared the reaction from the beautiful, naked woman standing in front him. When Heather took a step back into the water that rushed down her face, forcing her to blink fast, he knew that she wasn’t exactly innocent in all this.
“Goddammit,” Brody said. “I need to know everything now, sweetheart. You can’t hold back and hide.”
“What are you going to do to me?” Heather asked. “Just let me go then. I won’t say a thing to anyone.”
“You want to go back to Lyle? Get your face smashed in some more.”
“Fuck you…”
Brody reached out and touched Heather’s face. She winced in pain as his thumb ran over the bump of a purplish bruise. “Water washes it all away, sweetheart. I see the truth.”
“Shit.”
Heather reached up and tried to move Brody’s hand. He refused it and pressed his finger harder to the bruise.
“Stop,” Heather yelled.
“You’re not leaving,” Brody said.
“Like fuck I am.”
Heather turned and grabbed for the door. Brody put his hands to her body and lifted her off the ground. He pulled her close as she kicked and let out a cry. Of all the crazy shit he’d done in his life, he’d never done this naked in a shower before.
“Stop,” Brody growled. “I’m not going to hurt you. I’m not going to let the club hurt you. But you can’t leave here. You can’t without protection. And to get that, I need the fucking truth.”
Heather went limp.
Brody’s one hand was under her left breast. His other hand was at her stomach, his pointer finger touching the ridge of her belly button. It was making him hard again. Just a natural reaction of Heather being so goddamn beautiful.
Slowly, he put Heather down. His hands moved up to her shoulders. Her back to him.
“I need to know everything,” Brody whispered.
“Lyle is powerful…”
“No, he’s not. He makes everyone think he is. But he’s not. He hides. He scares people. Once he’s taken out, there’s nothing to fear.”
“You’re going to kill him?” Heather asked.
“Sweetheart, think of yourself right now. Nobody else. Not him. Not me. Just yourself. What did you do in all this?”
“What do you know?” Heather asked.
“There was a coffee cup found in the car… full of drugs. Wondering if that same kind of coffee cup was given to me this morning at the hospital… by a nurse who looked so fucking innocent…”
“Shit,” Heather whispered. She hung her head and started to cry.
“No,” Brody said. “The time to cry, sweetheart, is long over now. Now it’s the time to be strong and face this shit. With my protection. My help.”
Brody turned Heather around and cupped her face, gently, with both hands. He stared into her blue eyes, the look cutting through years of steel armor around his heart. Even if he felt himself slipping, there was business at hand. The club needed to solve this drug problem and then address the bombing that almost took Erik’s goddamn life.
“Listen to me carefully,” Brody said. He kept his hands to Heather’s face, trying to remain gentle to the bruise on her face. “This club is in a war right now. It’s not your problem. But this drug thing is. And this drug thing is going to make things a lot worse. It’s got to end. You know something, you tell me right now.”
“Can we get out of the shower first?” Heather asked.
“Yeah, sure,” Brody said.
Brody stepped back and crossed his arms. He leaned against the wall and watched as Heather washed her long hair, the curves of her hips and ass. When she turned around and reached up, her breasts pulled, gently bouncing every time she moved.
You can’t fall, man. She may not be what you think…
Yeah?
Well… what if she is?
eleven.
Heather had the black towel around her body, tight this time. She ran a brush through her hair as she sat on the edge of the bed. The water was still running, but not for long. She looked around the room and couldn’t believe she ended up in the care and clubhouse of a MC.
As hot as it was… as hot as Brody’s body was thrusting at hers… it was all going to come to an end as quick as it began. Heather needed to confess the truth about Lyle. And that meant opening her own closet full of skeletons. This was a world of no remorse and no care. The justice was fast and cold, served with what was known and what was confessed. Heather knew there was no defending herself in all this. She knew that getting into it. Part of her selfishly hoped that if Lyle were to get busted, she could use the abused and forced card with a lawyer and jury to ease the punishment.
Here in the Back Down Devil clubhouse, there were no lawyers. There was no judge. Hell, the closest thing was Brody’s hands. They’d pass the judgment to Heather.
And, again, that scared her and excited her all the same.
Heather stood and dropped the towel. Her body shivered as she looked at the partially opened bathroom door. She wanted Brody to come rushing from the bathroom right now. Tall, big, naked, and wet.
He had an instant effect on Heather, like no other man ever had in her life.
Heather hurried and forced herself to get dressed. She actually gave a shit about what pair of panties she put on, with the intention that Brody’s hands would be tearing at them sooner than later.
Once dressed, she sat on the edge of the bed and waited.
Brody came from the bathroom a minute later, his body massive, strong, and gorgeous. He had nothing but a towel on, his hair wet and slick, the hair on his face puffy and clean. He smelled delicious and it made Heather’s tongue hungry and eager.
He crossed his arms again and stood, leaning against the doorjamb to the bathroom.
“Talk to me,” he ordered. “Last chance. Or else I’ll send you out there with the guys. And you don’t want to know what they intend on doing to you to get the information they want.”
The message was loud and clear. Plus, if there was someone in the clubhouse that was going to hold Heather down and demand information, she wanted it to be Brody and nobody else.
“Lyle is running deals anywhere he can,” Heather said. “I don’t know much of the details. I just meet certain clients and customers. That’s my part. To help move product along while he’s working on new deals.” Heather looked at Brody. “You have to understand, this isn’t what I wanted. I didn’t sign up for it. I met Lyle in college. I was young and drunk, looking for fun. He was this young and fast guy in a suit. He had money and a car. And he had eyes for me. We were just… close…”
“You fucked him,” Brody said. “You fucked him and he gave you shit. You were his whore.”
Heather made a fist and thought about hitting Brody. But, dammit, he was right. That’s exactly what she had been for Brody. Right up until he didn’t need to fuck her to get what he wanted. Then that stopped.
“When was the first time he hurt you?” Brody asked.
“A few months after I met him,” Heather admitted.
“Christ,” Brody said. He turned and slapp
ed the wall. “You weren’t pregnant or anything?”
“God no,” Heather said. “He was stressed to the max and I was an easy target.”
“You let him.”
“I let him.”
“And again… and again…”
“You think I don’t know that?” Heather asked. “You don’t think I…”
“Fuck,” Brody said. He pushed from the wall. “I’m sorry, sweetheart.” He went to the bed and sat down next to Heather. He touched her back. “I shouldn’t say it like that. I just can’t picture you getting… I don’t want to.”
“Thanks,” Heather whispered.
She wanted to kiss Brody. But his eyes weren’t having it right now.
“I need to know the rest.”
“This is where it gets bad. You might want to get away from me.”
“You use?”
“Fuck no,” Heather said. “As fucked up as my life is, my focus was always becoming a doctor or a nurse. I never let anything get in the way of that. Especially drugs. Plus, I’d seen so many of Lyle’s customers or clients or whatever he called them. It’s a scary world.”
“That’s exactly why we don’t want that shit in our town,” Brody said.
“Well, it is in your town. Because of me.”
Brody raised an eyebrow. “What?”
“I’m the middle person in it all. Not all of his deals, but more than enough to make me feel like hell. The coffee cup thing? That’s me. People come to the hospital and it looks like they’re grieving someone. I carry two cups of coffee. One has coffee and one has drugs. I make it look as though I’m consoling the person. I give them the coffee with the drugs in it. And then they walk right out.”
“Jesus Christ,” Brody said. “Right in the hospital?”
“Yeah.”
“You’ve never been caught?”
“Not until right now. Mr. Peter… I guess that was my mistake too. I gave him coffee by mistake. That few minutes of hesitation ended up in him getting caught. And then… all this…”
“This isn’t the life you want,” Brody said. “Is it?”
“No. But I can’t get out. Lyle won’t let me. It’s too easy for him. There’s no risk on his end. If I try to get out. If I say a word. If I do anything wrong…”
Brody reached up and touched the bruise on Heather’s face. It hurt but Heather didn’t wince or move. She could see something burning wild in his eyes. He was angry about this. That meant a lot to Heather.
“Anything else?” Brody asked.
“I don’t think so. He’s just… I swear, Brody, I get nothing out of it. I don’t get money. I don’t get protection. I’m just a whore. I’m stuck. He’ll kill me if I leave for good. I’m surprised nothing has happened here yet.”
“Nothing will,” Brody said. “He’s not that stupid. But the drug thing has to end. We’re going to take care of this problem. But we need to send a clear message and make him come out to us.”
“What the hell does that mean?”
Brody put a hand to Heather’s hand. “I’m not saying I don’t believe you. But I need more. I need to know for real that you aren’t in on all this shit. And if you truly want out and you want to trust me, then you’re going to listen to what I need you to do.”
“Yes,” Heather whispered. “Anything, Brody. I’m not using. I’m not selling. I’m not doing anything… I’m just a fucking useless whore.”
“You’re not useless,” Brody said. “You’re not a whore. Don’t say that shit.”
“I don’t feel anything anymore,” Heather said. She looked up at Brody. “I’m just… there. I try to help the people that come into the hospital. Including your friend, your brother. I don’t judge anyone ever. I only want people to feel the opposite of how I feel. I never wanted this for my life. But I can’t imagine Lyle doing it with someone else.”
Brody shook his head. He put his arm around Heather and pulled her close. “He’ll never do it again to anyone. I promise you that. And you do feel something, sweetheart. I know you feel something because I felt it. That amazing body of yours running wild…”
Heather leaned up and kissed Brody. “Tell me why it matters so much to you.”
“What?”
“My face. Each time you look. Or touch. It…”
“Not your business,” Brody said. “We have to stop the drugs. I need more, Heather.”
“So do I,” Heather said.
She felt bold and put her hand to the towel. She pulled at the folded knot and Brody leaned back.
Holyfuckinghell…
Life was so dangerous… and so hot.
twelve.
Heather stared at him as her small hand climbed the length of his cock. Her fingertips pressed against his ever-growing hard flesh. She tried to grip him at the root of his erection and could barely do so. Her hand slid up and back down.
Brody simply leaned back, intrigued to where Heather was going to take this. Her eyes were deep and beautiful. But that mark on her face was driving him mad. It made him want to blow up the fucking world. He felt his heart pulling in all directions. The memories of old shit flashed in his mind.
Holding a comic book I stole. A can of soda in my hand. Fuck, I never got to drink soda. So this was rare, man. An actual can of fucking soda. Name brand shit too. The good stuff. Lots of sugar and flavor. Standing in the foyer to the beat up house. Other kids didn’t have broken windows and tape on their windows. Or cardboard from cases of beer. Other kids didn’t have brown and yellow water stains on their ceilings. Other kids didn’t have holes in the floor of their houses. But what the fuck do I know? I’m a kid. I have a bed. No blankets, but a bed. Mom tells me there are kids who sleep in the street. I don’t get that shit… won’t they get run over if they sleep in the street? I take another step, comic book and soda, feeling damn good, and then I hear the slap sound. Hand to skin. Like a crack of thunder inches away from the window. The kitchen door flies open and here comes Mom. She’s spinning and stumbling, the old man chasing her down for more. She puts her hands out and misses the wall, knocking some cheap old vase to the floor. It crashes into pieces. She then sees me and tries to stand and make life good again. But the old man is right there. He grabs her and throws her into the living room, just like the wrestlers do to their opponents. Except that shit is fake and they get thrown into ropes. The old man looks at me and makes a fist. He pretends to throw it at me and I jump back. I drop the comic book and the can of soda. The fucking soda lands on the comic book and spills all over it. The soda is ruined. It’ll go flat now if I try to drink it. The comic is ruined, the pages wet, the ink smearing already. Mom lets out a scream. Dad cries out in a fury of curses. Fuck this. Fuck life.
Brody brought himself back to reality as he let out a grunt and a hiss. He looked down and realized that Heather’s sweet little mouth was wrapped tight around the head of his cock. She was moving up and down with some damn speed, her little hand grabbing tight to his shaft, pumping as she tasted him.
It felt so fucking good. And it looked so fucking good too.
Up and down, Heather worked her mouth more onto Brody’s cock, tasting him. When she needed a break for some air, she came up and then let her tongue go to work. Licking the bottom of his shaft, her tongue lapped at him, her eyes staring up at him.
“Get on the fucking bed, sweetheart,” Brody ordered.
Heather did so, but she didn’t stop tasting his body. She turned herself around, leaving Brody with no choice but to wrestle at her jeans. It took a little wiggling and a lot of Heather moving, her mouth full of his erection, but her pants came down to her knees. Brody quickly grabbed at the thin line of her panties and pulled it away, exposing her tender slit. With two fingers, he touched and sank them into her.
When Heather groaned, the warm vibration on his cock left Brody groaning for more. He thrust up and watched Heather try to take all of him. Her poor mouth couldn’t do so. She let out a whimpering cough sound and then got back to work.
<
br /> She was fucking beautiful. Like no woman Brody had met before.
His fingers dug into her body, twisting and turning against her throbbing insides. He slipped down and found the nub of her clit and pressed hard. Heather let out a cry and sucked at him harder, faster. He’d found the magic button again.
Smiling, Brody pressed harder to Heather’s clit.
They soon started to go wild for each other. Brody felt himself ready to explode and the way Heather was rocking her body at him, she was about ready herself. Brody held himself together until Heather let go first. His middle finger was against her clit, the tip of his pointer to the hole. He felt her throbbing and shaking as she came, wetness leaking everywhere.
Heather let out another wild groan and there was nothing else Brody could do to hold himself back. She moved down his shaft and pulled back up and he let go. Brody put his head back and hissed each time he came. He felt Heather’s sweet lips moving over him, pulling it all out, as perfectly as her body had done just before.
She came off his cock with a loud pop sound and Brody laughed. He sat back up and pulled the towel over himself. Heather moved to her knees on the bed and slipped off, hurrying to fix her pants.
Brody caught his breath and looked back at Heather. Just standing there. Jeans and an old shirt. Her hair messy and damp.
What is she doing to me?
“My old man used to beat on my mother,” Brody said. “Bad. It was a daily thing. At first, there was a reason. Not a good one, there never is. But there was one. Then it just became routine. The normal shit in our house. He used to come after me a lot too. But I didn’t care. I’d rather him kill me than her.”
“He killed…”
“No,” Brody said. “I tried to rob a few places for cash. To get my mother and I out of the house. But I got pinched. Ended up in jail for the first time. The old man came to get me. Played the concerned father card until we were alone in the car. He hit me with a right fist that I could still feel today. And that was it for me. I hit him back. We were in the goddamn car together. He was driving like an asshole. I opened the door and rolled out. I cut up everything on my body. But a second later, he lost control and went off an embankment. They said he died instantly, but I secretly hoped the car caught on fire and he burned to death. To suffer.”
